Real Deal

Today has been a crazy day, what day isn't? I have been doing so much paperwork, and thinking, then snuck in a 9 minute nap...yes 9 minutes. It was glorious, set my alarm and I conked out! :) Went to school for daily pick up, then off to two different stores. With 3 kids! Ugh! It's never in and out with them...then it was rushing home, quickly making dinner, and as soon as the Mister walks in, I'm rushing out the door for a meeting. I didn't eat anything so on the way home from said meeting I stopped and got a bite to eat. I gave the kid, yes he was a kid, a mere child, my $5 bill and he was perplexed! It was an old bill but I wondered "What the heck is he doing? Doesn't he recognize a $5 bill?" He looked at it, turned it around, straightened it, held it up to the light...the whole inspection of a counterfeit bill. I just chuckled, but I didn't say anything. I thought to myself: man, am I really getting to be that old? He doesn't even recognize the real deal right in his hands!
How often do we not recognize the real thing right in front of us? Our God given talent, ability, beauty, or just a sign from above even. There are so many times we are so busy running around, caught up in stuff that we don't hear what God is trying to tell us, or see what He's trying to show us. It's not as hard as you think, that still thought that pops in your head, and idea, a notion to say an extra friendly hello to someone, a thought of calling a friend. This could totally be your Divine message from God! We don't know what that could mean to someone else, to ourselves. Keep your ears and eyes open for your special messages from Him.

Ask. Receive. Seek. Find. Knock. Open.

Bittersweet Sounds

When I was a little girl I would stand upon the wooden pew next to my dad as he sang hymns with the congregation. I was mesmerized with his then visible Adam's apple. It wiggled and bounced with his falsettos and harmonies. I would sometimes reach over and touch the vibration, I still remember the wonder of it all. Another Season, Another Stage

For the last ten years, I have been a stay at home mom. Within that time we brought home two more newborns, the first three children started elementary school, and I homeschooled the oldest for her three years of middle school. We also started our business and I even went back to school myself a couple of times. In three weeks time, my world will ultimately change. The oldest is returning to public school as a freshman in high school. Then the youngest is starting kindergarten, the baby is going to school. So that means all four of our kids will be in school. People have started to ask what I'm going do to with all my free time. Hmm. That's a great question I guess, I've even asked myself that question. I've thought about going back to school or working at our shop. I have considered taking care of myself by going to a doctor to check on some things I have on my mind, thank you late 30s.
